Poha might have a reputation for being a Maharashtrian breakfast but people all over India consume poha in various forms. Poha refers to white rice that has been parboiled and then rolled and flattened to produce dried flakes. Poha is usually cooked with onions, turmeric, curry leaves, peanuts etc. It s much healthier than rice because it doesn’t go through the usual polishing process. It’s 70% healthy carbohydrate and 30% fat. Most poha recipes are not only vegan and healthy but flavourful unlike other diet foods.
